You've probably noticed we refer a lot to this cafe throughout the website, so we thought we'd give the people what they want... a look in at the fabulous cafe and chocolate shop that YOU should try!

I Should Cocoa is nestled in the small town of Belper in Derbyshire. It's a quaint little area with plenty of independent, boutique shops, eateries and a sprinkle of chain stores too, to give that sustainability it needs to keep it viable for all ages.
The actual shop is situated on Strutt street, a side street off the main shopping street, King Street. I Should Cocoa has existed for nearly ten years and to have contended with not just the cafes on that one street (and its a very short street!) but with the several others in the town including a Costa, it must be doing something right so we went in and had a snoop around...
We were greeted by big smiles and hellos which are always nice in a busy cafe. As it was full downstairs we opted to sit upstairs, sitting down at a table over looking the street which was full of hustle and bustle. The room was neatly painted with artistic pictures and wooden boxes bolted to the walls, some holding retail products such as cushions, another housing the menus. I picked one up and we had a look. For a coffee and chocolate shop, some might be mistaken that they only serve just that, but available are also plenty of mains; sandwiches, toasties, nachos, cakes and of course 'FREAKSHAKES'!
So obviously we chose two of the freak shakes to try; the 'Rainbow Unicorn' and the 'Choc shock.'
When they promptly arrived at our table by two very sweet waitresses, they look incredible! The 'Rainbow Unicorn' was all kinds of fun and perfectly suited to the 'in' trend right now, it even had a hundreds and thousands covered horn on top. The 'Choc Shock' was a chocolate overload, topped with brownie, a chocolate mouse, chocolate and more chocolate. We were very excited to dive in.

(The 'Unicorn Rainbow'. We didn't have a chance to take a picture of the 'Choc Shock', it was just too tempting!)
It was a challenge as we worked our way through the calorie ridden sweet, but it was enjoyable to say the least. The brownie is made on the premises, and we both agreed it was the best brownie either of us had ever tasted, but even that on its own was filling. Yet we soldiered on.
After an intense half hour we both admitted defeat, and melted into the comfortable atmosphere until it was time to pay up. Overall the 'Freakshakes' were pretty damn good but don't bother eating anything a few days before because you will be full for the next week! As for I Should Cocoa, it is a lovely little gem that will tempt you in all kinds of ways. Hopefully you'll have more will power than us when you visit!
(Freak shakes are £5.95 each)
